You know it’s challenging to keep the spark alive in long-term relationships. Challenging maintaining the commitment to remain together through conflicts and disagreements. Tempting to allow a relationship to settle into the monotony of daily routines.
Now imagine you’ve been together 22 years, running multiple companies together, and have a joint net worth $50 million.
Would you still be looking for something to keep Romance Alive?

Chip and Joanna Gaines, known for the series “Fixer Upper,” shared how they decided to intentionally do something to “awaken” their marriage and reignite their relationship. Took up an ‘awkward’ new hobby
At ages 50 and 47, Chip and Joanna started taking dance lessons together. Partnership dancing.
They acknowledged it was awkward. Didn’t know what to do with their hands, where to move their feet and avoid trampling over each other. They “totally sucked at it.” But after a couple of weeks, they began looking forward to their lessons.
According to Joanna, “Anytime you unlock a new thing, and you do it together, it only grows your relationship.” Chip chimed in, “It was this sweet reminder that all of us could use refreshes and challenges in our relationships.”
Chip and Joanna teach us that in a relationship:
Always be looking for ways to refresh your relationship.
Learning something new together strengthens the bond between you.
You’re never too old to learn a new skill together.
Dancing with your partner, a very romantic activity, helps you keep Romance Alive.

As someone who endured a year of clumsily learning steps and gracelessly stepping on feet, I can attest it was worth the awkwardness. So, let go of your hesitancy. Learn something “awkward” and dance together. I have found it’s a great way to share time with your partner and keep Romance Alive in your relationship.
