Ever seen pictures of safari guides sitting on a seat attached to the front bumper of their vehicle? Some reels show a lion playing stare-down with the park ranger – nothing between them. YIKES!
An African safari might not be available to you. But how about visiting a drive-thru wild animal park? A quick search can show one or more close to you. I found three within a couple hours drive. Some keep the animals behind fences. Others allow the animal to mill about the cars.
Invite your partner to a safari. Maybe make it a getaway activity. Instead of just motoring through, look for “shy” animals. Keep track of them, even if it’s just a description.
After your safari, talk about these shy animals over an unhurried meal. Guess why you think they’re recluses. Make up stories about their shyness or what they’re hiding. Then choose one you’d like to take home – if that were possible. And maybe talk about a real safari to Africa or India.
