The idea for what would become Romance Alive grew out of a casual conversation several years ago between Robert his best friend, Dave. When the topic turned to romancing one’s spouse, Dave mentioned that he wished he’d remember that before pulling into his driveway every night. “But even if I did, I wouldn’t know what to do,” he lamented.
The wheels started turning in Robert’s mind. How many other men and women –felt a little lost when it came to romance? A hopeless romantic himself, Robert turned the conversation into the aptly titled booklet, How To Be The Romantic Your Sweetheart Desires.
Robert started thinking. There might be other guys like Dave, who could use some help with romance. He started creating packages of “Romantic Sparks” for clients. Each month they received a package designed to create romantic evenings for their love.
In 1999, Robert shared with a few friends a booklet he’d written, “How To Be The Romantic Your Sweetheart Desires”. They suggested this information could help couples even more than Romantic Sparks.
With their encouragement, Robert started Romance Alive and developed, “Growing Romance”. This course guides couples to discover together how to create more romance in their relationship. Robert next created the first Romance Alive Experience. During this seminar, he explains romance and how to romance, guiding couples through exercises designed to help them personalize it. At the first Experience, he watched a couple who began sitting as far apart as two people can get on a love seat. They kept moving closer together. By the end, there was no room between them.
In 2012, Robert began the Romantic Memo. In this weekly email, Robert shares tips and ideas on how to romance your sweetheart. Later that year he began the Romance Alive blog, now read by people around the world. Robert’s been interviewed on radio, TV and podcasts. His books include A Year of Romantic Memos and A Year of Romantic Interludes (Romantic Moments). And he’s recorded the audiobook, “Discover Your Romantic Preference".
Today, Robert, a hopeless romantic, continues studying, researching, and writing about romance. He’s constantly looking for ways to help people learn about romance. And his mission continues to be helping people take their relationship to the next level with romance.
