Answer to the question: On what date do they celebrate Valentine’s in Romania?

While some celebrate Valentine’s on February 14, many locals celebrate Romanian Valentine’s Day or “Dragobete” on February 24.

This tradition stems from mythology, marking the beginning of spring and the union of lovers. It is considered a day to avoid fighting to ensure a happy, loving year. Young couples pick wildflowers and wash their faces in snow to prepare for spring. Traditions often involve exchanging small, handcrafted, time-honored items. And many lovers pick this day to pop the question.
