“I can do it myself!”
It’s cute from a two-year-old trying out their independence. But when said by an adult?
A Kentucky man with a chainsaw refused neighbor’s help to cut down a tree. He proclaimed, “I don’t need help. I can do it myself !” He had watched some online videos. How hard could it be.
Unfortunately:
- The tree fell the “wrong” direction.
- It damaged the fence and garage roof.
- His ladder became trapped under the fallen trunk.
Eventually, he accepted help – to clean up the mess.
Later he admitted, “I thought asking for help would make me look incapable. Instead, refusing help created a bigger problem”
