This Everyday Moment Nearly Became Her Biggest Regret

Can you predict hindsight?

It might seem a strange question. But it’s worth asking.

It happens in movies and real life. Before heading to his car, Jim comes up behind June and wraps his arms around her in a love embrace. She’s busy digging through her purse. She’s rushed. Distracted.

Oh, Jim…” she sighs, gently pushing his arms away and giving him a halfhearted peck on the cheek.

Disappointed, Jim heads to his car as she calls out, “See ya.

Then a sudden accident. A totaled car. By the grace of God, he survives – barely.

Racing to the hospital, June realizes she nearly lost him. Nearly lost her chance for another embrace. Another kiss. Another “I love you.”

I’ve regretted moments like this I’ve missed. Times when I could have created a Romantic Moment for my partner. But I thought I could do it later, when it was more convenient. But “later” never happened. Not because of a dramatic event. But things changed. The opportunity simply disappeared. Never returned.

Can you relate? Wished for a do-over?

These experiences have made me more intentional. More aware. More committed to taking every chance I get to romance my love. To turn to her and let her know what she means to me. To take the extra couple minutes for an embrace. A real kiss. To let her know how much I appreciate her being part of my life. To romance her one more time.

As you move through this week, take moments for your partner. Slow down for a hug, a kiss, an embrace. Hold her/him close. Create a Romantic Moment, another shared memory. Intentionally take a little extra time with your partner. For we don’t know if we’ll get another Moment.

We can’t predict hindsight. But we can choose to romance today.

Have you ever regretted missing a moment for romance? I invite you to share it with me.

The timely arrival of the product was appreciated. I followed the suggestions and my wife was surprised and excited. I am not a real romantic person. What I received was just what the doctor ordered. You will be hearing from me before long for something else.

Never before had I experienced such a meeting! In 2 hours we covered elements of romance overlooked by our fast paced life styles. I thought it may be a seminar on sex, but I was pleasantly surprised to observe that romance, thought it may lead to a sexual encounter, is NOT sex but has a deepening & enriching effect on the relationship. I think this seminar should be taught to our young people, college ag & married adults.
