• Opening the car door for her, “She’s got you trained”.
• Pulling out the chair or offering my hand as she scootches out of the restaurant booth. “Must be a first date.”
• When I receive a fruit bouquet at work. “What did you do to deserve that?”
Comments like these are so dismissive. And they can leave me wondering why people feel obligated to comment. Do they consider these romantic, chivalrous acts unusual? The message at me, “What’s wrong with this guy?”

Creating Romantic Moments for your sweetheart isn’t always easy. It takes thought. Effort. And then people will try to make light of you loving your partner. Keeping your relationship alive.
Personally, I believe they are jealous.
And it doesn’t hinder me from romancing my sweetheart. In fact, it reinforces my belief that these acts are important.
Besides, such comments are more about them than me. They may not be used to seeing this kind of care. Might be missing it in their relationship. Probably forgot the impact it has on their partner.
Don’t let these disparaging remarks hinder you from creating Romantic Moments for your partner. When you hear these types of comments, I’d suggest.
• Smile.
• Tell them you do this because your sweetheart means so much to you.
• Respectfully suggest they try it.
And remember. These acts are about you and your partner. Don’t let someone else’s reaction keep you from creating meaningful Romantic Moments for your sweetheart.
After all, they’re probably jealous. Their partner is probably jealous. Your sweetheart is probably glowing. And you’re actively working to keep your relationship, your Romance Alive.
