What’s your source for guidance when it comes to bringing more romance into your relationship?
Recently I stumbled across a “Love Horoscope” claiming to offer “expert” advice for keeping your Romance Alive today. I was curious.

According to my Zodiac sign, I’m supposed to be patient, gradually building strong emotional bonds with my partner. I’m to share my feelings confidently and take time for small, cozy moments.
She’s warned her love relationship will be intense today. Emotions heightened. And she’s to express her feelings openly without being overly aggressive.
Could tensions build when my slow relationship building meets her emotional intensity? At least quiet cuddle time might allow her space to express her heightened emotions.
If you search online for romantic advice, you’ll find a variety of suggestions for keeping Romance Alive. Gift ideas. The “right” flowers. The perfect words to say. Adventures you share to conquer fears together (we survived!). Special meals. Even s?xual techniques to “keep it fresh”.
Some suggestions might be helpful, but here’s the truth. Keeping Romance Alive is easy and extremely challenging. It rests on a single, simple principle. The Platinum Rule of Romance: “Romance your partner as your partner wants you to romance him/her.”
No horoscopes. No social medial promotions. Not what you think is romantic. It’s focusing on your partner. Understanding your partner’s Romantic Preference Grouping:
- Little gifts
- Your time
- Touch
- Words
Then intentionally creating Romantic Moments based on your partner preferences.
You don’t need exotic adventures, extravagant gifts or horoscopes to strengthen your connection. You need attentiveness, awareness and the guidance of the Platinum Rule of Romance.

When you focus on how your partner wants you to romance her/him, you naturally keep Romance Alive. And isn’t that what you want?
