ANSWER
The date for celebrating Svátek zamilovaných (the Day of Lovers or Love Day) in the Czech Republic is May 1st. It’s a spring festival deeply rooted in Slavic culture that celebrates romance and fertility. The tradition for couples to kiss under blossoming cherry trees for good luck and to ensure lasting love and beauty is inspired by poet Karel Hynek Mácha.

While Valentine’s Day on February 14th has gained popularity, especially among younger generations in cities, May 1st remains the authentic, traditional, and most significant day for lovers in the Czech Republic.
